Matt Woodhead is an award-winning playwright and theatre director. He is currently the Artistic Director of LUNG, a national touring theatre company that develops innovative and politically driven work that broadens horizons and investigates modern Britain. He is also an Associate Artist at The Lowry in Salford.
Matt has written and directed plays including THE 56, E15 and CHILCOT (co-written with Richard Norton Taylor). All have been published by Oberon Books and are currently touring with Battersea Arts Centre. In 2016, THE 56 was adapted for BBC Radio 4 and was shortlisted for Best Adaptation in the BBC Radio Awards 2017.
Matt trained on the National Theatre Studio Director’s Programme. He won the Directors Guild Award for Best Newcomer in 2015.
